Morning Momments

I am taking a break from Works for me Wendesday to share my lovely morning with you.

This morning JR and I got up at 6:30am, and since Little Dude was still sleeping away, I decided to spend time with just JR out in our living room. Normally I would've tried to get him happy so I could go back to sleep, but this morning, it seemed perfect for a "just us" moment. It seems that because Little Dude is older and more active, a lot of the day JR just gets dragged around to whatever Little Dude is doing, and because of Little Dude's activity level, I simply must stay in eyesight of him, which means JR is often in his crib,swing, or being carried around.

I am realizing that "just us" time for Jr and me is very rare, and I am very glad I took the time this morning to just hang out with and focus on him.

We just sat on the couch, "talking" and looking at things. Stared at each other in awe, my image reflected in his beautiful blue eyes that are getting lighter and lighter every day. He finally decided to fall asleep again around 7:30am on my chest, so I started reading a library book (Shock Wave by Clive Cussler, awesome!) and enjoyed a cup of coffee.

What a perfect early morning.
